Lancaster bomber takes off at night
£ 40.00 – £ 74.00
A Lancaster bomber takes off at night. This panel originally appeared in an issue of Commando! comics, produced by Britain’s top comic publisher DC Thomson for more than 50 years – and they are still in print.
The Lancaster bomber was one of the RAF’s iconic aircraft during the Second World War. It first saw service with Bomber Command in 1942 and as the bombing over Germany gathered momentum, it was the main aircraft for the night-time bombing campaigns that followed.
It was a versatile aircraft and was chosen to equip 617 Squadrom for its Dambuster raid on German dams.
I am the the first and only screenprinter to have permission from DC Thomson to use their archive of images for my work.
