An American GI gets real
An American GI gets real. He sums up his platoon’s fate: ‘It’s not cheerful but it’s honest.’
How gritty can you get?
This panel is taken from an American war comic from 1952 – the story is set in the Korean War.
The comic was called True War Experiences, published by Harvey Comics, and the story was called Flaming Finger.
I’ve recoloured the panel – have a look at the original, which I’ve added as an extra image.
Handmade, limited edition screen print on cotton paper, mould-made at the St Cuthbert Mill in Wells, Somerset. 25cm x 19cm.
