Motor racing great Stirling Moss races – this images shows him in a Formula 3 racing car from the 1950s.

It is taken from a The Victor Book For Boys annual.

Moss raced from 1948 to 1962 and won 212 of the 529 races he entered, including 16 Formula One Grands Prix. Born in London, he achieved success in several formulas and has been described as “the greatest driver never to win the World Championship”. Moss finished as championship runner-up on four occasions and third a further three times between 1955 and 1961.

The Victor comic was produced by Britain’s top comic publisher DC Thomson for more than 40 years – between 1961 and 1992. In its heyday, it sold hundreds of thousands of copies each week.
