The making of a Billy Whizz print, filmed!

Posted by John Reynolds on

Here's a little film showing how I put the two colours down on a sheet of paper to produce my latest screenprint, of Beano favourite Billy Whizz.

I remember reading Billy Whizz stories as a child, and always loved how he moved too quickly that his feet were never actually on the ground - well not when he was running - he was always kind of airborne.

This is surely one of the truths of childhood, that we all run everywhere - why walk? I suppose we all slow down eventually ... but Billy's still speeding about.

Here the yellow goes down first, then I register the black by printing the black ink on a sheet of acetate first, then down goes the key (of CMYK fame) to pull it all together.
