Normally, you (the customer) only get to see the prints I'm happy with.
There are so many which don't make it to the website.
Here are some of those mistakes:
Top left: Moomins 'Sink or swim together'. Here I've tried to improve the black layer – I must have had a look and decided it wasn't strong enough - and the process of having a look has moved the paper. So the second pull has gone astray. Disaster! Print ruined.
Top right: Simpsons "My favourite little bore". Here I've printed a yellow guideline – to help me position all the colours accurately inside the black panel which goes on last. However ... I've clearly forgotten to position the print properly underneath my screen. Print ruined.
Bottom left: The Bairn whispers to Pa Broon. Here my ink is too liquid, and as a result the image is ragged and imprecise – very obviously around the lettering. Print ruined.
Bottom right: Dennis chased by a copper. There are three mistakes here. Firstly, I've failed to print the red properly, so it's patchy, especially on the bottom of the print. Secondly, I've printed the red in the wrong place, but this only becomes apparent when I've printed the black on top – and realise the image is not centred. It's too close to the top. Thirdly, that black layer is obviously imperfect, and both Dennis and the copper are a bit ghostly. Print ruined (it was doomed as soon as I'd made the screen, as that black layer was never going to be satisfactory).
